Nintendo stocks the Pokemon Go Plus in the UK. It is yet to open for pre-orders, with a shipping date slated for September."The #PokemonGO Plus accessory will arrive in Sept. instead of the originally expected end of July. Thanks for your patience, Trainers!" said Nintendo Europe on Twitter. It's similarly bad news for US customers too. Originally slated for a July launch, the launch of Pokemon Go Plus in the US has been put back as well:"The #PokemonGO Plus accessory will now be released Sept 2016 instead of the originally expected end of July launch. http://bit.ly/2a4JTwt," added Nintendo America via its Twitter feed.GameStop, which has the US exclusive is still stating a 31 July, but that now appears to be an oversight. What are the Pokemon Go Plus' specifications?
Inside the pack you get the Pokemon Go Plus device, a polyester wristband that measures 4-7cm when worn, and a removable CR2032 Lithium coin cell battery for power. The device itself, which looks like the pointer in the app (and on Google Maps) is 46 x 33 x 17.5mm and weighs 13g.How much is Pokemon Go Plus?
The Bluetooth enabled device costs £34.99 in the UK, $34.99 in the US. It might be available in other regional prices too. Check with your local supply
Pokémon Go Plus release date, price and UK pre order
The Pokémon Go Plus is priced at £34.99 with free delivery in the UK, according to Nintendo's own official merchandise store, however it's currently listed as "Out of Stock" on their site.
In fact, the Pokémon Go Plus is, at the point of writing, listed as out of stock or otherwise unavailable on every online store, including Amazon, which holds the message "Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock." If you're desperate to splash the cash, sellers on eBay are listing "guaranteed pre orders" of the Pokémon Go Plus for anything between £60 and £100, although there's no guarantee of the shipping date itself.
That's because, until now, there's been some confusion over the actual release date of the Pokémon Go Plus. That's finally been cleaned up by Nintendo however, with the company announcing that the Pokémon Go Plus will now release in September 2016, instead of the previously announced window of late July. There's still no specific date within that September window.
The #PokemonGO Plus accessory will arrive in Sept. instead of the originally expected end of July. Thanks for your patience, Trainers!
Even then however, you may not be able to get your hands on one right away; Nintendo has placed a one-per-customer limit on purchasing the item, although again it's unclear how that will play out with secondary retailers like Amazon or GAME. Either way, it's reasonable to expect some pretty significant scarcity when the Pokémon Go Plus does finally release.
Pricing And Availability
One of the biggest questions many Pokemon Go fans have in their minds is about the pricing and general availability of the $35 Pokemon Go Plus. Nintendo had organised a sale of the accessory back in July when the game was launched, but it was sold out quickly. As July drew closer to the end, Nintendo decided to the push the release of Pokemon Go Plus to September.
At the moment, several Nintendo stores across Europe have come out with a probable release date of Pokemon Go Plus. Back in the US, Gamestop has jumped in too. Nintendo stores are stating that the Pokemon Go Plus will be shipped before September, but there is no information about new orders being accepted.
Another reason for delay in the release of the Pokemon Go Plus is the fact that it supports iPhones only, at the moment. There are reports that Niantic is working on bringing Pokemon Go Plus support to the Android version of the game. A September 30 release would mean that we should see an update to the Android version in the near future.
